Founded by Merli V. Guerra and Kimberleigh A. Holman in 2010, Luminarium Dance Company was an award-winning 501(c)(3) non-profit contemporary dance company that was regularly hailed for its unique combination of dance and illumination. After serving both the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions for 14 years, Luminarium completed its final season in 2024 to allow its two artistic directors to expand their own respective projects. This website provides an archive of the company's mission, members, and creative legacy.

Luminarium's co-founders are excited to continue their artistic pursuits through their respective projects.
Merli V. Guerra joined Texas A&M University in 2024 as its Assistant Professor of Dance Technology, a new position in the College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts, where she is continuing her creative research as an interdisciplinary choreographer and filmmaker. Guerra remains dedicated to innovating and producing public arts events that celebrate historic sites through her ongoing PLACE Project. She also continues to create and present her screendance films nationally and internationally, while serving as an adjudicator and presenter for various festivals and conferences.
Kim Holman is excited to announce that she will continue making dance in Boston under the name Human Movement Project. Human Movement Project develops original performance at the intersection of dance and theatre, while providing creative outlets for storytelling, engagement, and advocacy. The new nonprofit will be run out of Holman’s space in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood, Human Movement Lab, and will focus on her work utilizing live performance and creative movement as a community tool to make conversation and small scale change.
